iPhone 5 Event To Be Held On Apple Campus In Cupertino

According to a report published today, Apple will holding their next media event on campus in Cupertino instead of San Francisco.

The report comes from All Things D  – a technology-related blog part of Wall Street Journal’sDigital Network.

In the report, John Paczkowski cites sources “close to the company” which claim that, for the first time in many years, Apple will be holding their next media event on-campus at Infinite Loop, Cupertino, California.

Although we won’t know for sure where the event will take place, who will present the keynote and which products will be announced until things are official, following recent reports does give a rough idea of what to expect.

Several reports, including one from All Things D itself, suggest that the upcoming event is where the next iPhone (or iPhones) will be announced: a low-end iPhone 4 look-alike or a dual-core A5-toting iPhone 4 and a high-end next generation iPhone (which referred to as the iPhone 5).

Paczkowski has also has previously claimed that the keynote will be given by new CEO Tim Cook. Cook’s keynote will have other important Apple executives like Scott Forstall (Senior VP, iOS Software) and Philip Schiller (Senior VP,Product Marketing).

The reason behind this apparent change of venue isn’t very clear at the moment. Apple traditionally hosts their events in large spaces like Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA) but the company has, for one reason or another, decided to hold the next event on-campus.

The rumored October 4th release date is just 8 days away, so if Paczkowski’s previous report has any truth in it, we should see Apple sending invites to the media any day now!

iOS 5 GM Will Be Made Available On September 23

iOS 5 has been in development for the last few months, with 7 beta versions issued to registered developers so far. As the operating system gets closer to shipping stage, we’re now hearing reports that it might be scheduled to be sent to manufacturers during the last week of September in order to be installed on the upcoming iPhone and iPod touch.

Despite being among one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers in the world, Apple doesn’t actually assemble any of its hardware products, instead relying on suppliers and contractors in the Far East who are responsible for providing the parts as well as assembling the devices together, before shipping them straight to Apple’s warehouses. According to an analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is getting ready to send the final version of iOS 5 straight to its suppliers next week, ‘some point between September 23 and September 30’, so that it can be loaded onto new iPhones and iPod touches.
According to previous reports, Apple’s suppliers are already hard at work on the next iPhone, which is known on the Internet as the iPhone 5. Aside from its numerous hardware advancements, such as a dual-core A5 processor similar to the one found on the iPad 2 and an 8-megapixel camera, the new iPhone is expected to ship with iOS 5 on board. If Apple does indeed intend to ship the final version of iOS 5 next week, it must have concrete plans to finish the system as early as this week and issue it to registered developers for testing as soon as possible.
iOS 5 is the next major update for the operating system that runs on the iPod touch, iPhoneand iPad. The new system will include several enhancements that have been long wished-for by developers and end-users alike, such as a revamped notifications system known as Notification Center which replaces the old and intrusive pop-up notifications found in earlier versions, system wide Twitter integration, enhancements to Mobile Safari with features such as Reader mode and an enhanced user interface on the iPad, among many others. While iOS 5 is expected to come built right into the iPhone 5; iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 2 and iPad owners, along with users of the 3rd-generation iPod touch and above, will be able to update their system through iTunes.
iOS 5, as well the new iPhone, are expected to be officially unveiled sometime this month at an Apple press event, with a release likely to happen shortly after. But according to this report however, the release of the iPhone 5 will be in ‘mid October’.

Apple’s latest giant store-“ Apple Store 2.0”

Apple has opened their newest Apple store-“Apple store 2.0”, on Saturday in Glendale, California. The store is located approximately 500 feet away from the world’s first Apple store. Even though grand opening is less than 48hours,the design, exterior, feel, ambience is yet to be revealed to the public.

The newest Apple store is slightly different from the conventional Apple store which we are familiar with. The New Apple store will have classic silver front with glass doors for an all glass front. Plus Apple's iconic logo will float in this glass. Seems like glass is the apple's new style. The inside of the store features a very vast open floor plan which is almost similar to other apple stores.

Apple is taking their personal setup service very seriously. In Apple store 2.0 Personal setup will have dedicated areas in the store called “start-up sessions”. The store will also have a giant Genius bar, one of the apples largest with fifty seats. The store also contains twelve giant tables which don’t have a side panel showcase that holds iPhone, iPad, iPod, mac notebook. Just like Apples recent retail store this new apple store also contains a briefing room with which the employees can assist business customers .Our sources say this new Apple retail store is more like an employee oriented store, the back of the store contains a facilities for house area for repairs, breaks, offices, and for other utilities like the famous Apple’s 5th Avenue Store. One thing is certain it sure is a one of a kind store.
